Tefi Pessoa’s New Chapter: Vox Podcast Host, Advice Guru for The Cut.

Internet personality Tefi Pessoa is joining Vox Media where she will launch a weekly pop culture podcast as well as write a new monthly advice column for its online brand The Cut. Pessoa, who served as The Cut’s red carpet correspondent at the Academy Awards earlier this year, will also appear regularly on the Cut’s social channels.

“Tefi is sharp, hilarious, insightful, and brings infectious energy to every conversation,” says Ray Chao, Senior VP and General Manager for Audio and Video at Vox. “We’re thrilled to work with Tefi to build a defining pop culture show.”

Vox says the new Pessoa-hosted podcast (is) set to launch this summer and publish across audio, video, and social platforms. Her advice column, called “Ask Tefi,” is slated to debut May 23.

“We’ve long been fans of Tefi’s over at the Cut,” says the Cut’s Editor-in-Chief Lindsay Peoples. “Whether she’s helping us make sense of pop culture’s past and present or offering up heartfelt advice, she’s established herself as a singular voice on the internet and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce her to our audience in a bigger way.”

Pessoa arrives in podcasting with a built-in megaphone to promote her show. She has more than two million followers on Instagram and TikTok. 

“After years of connecting with people online, I wanted a space to go deeper,” Pessoa says. “This column and podcast are for anyone who’s ever thought, ‘Am I the only one feeling this way?’ You’re not. Whether it’s breakups, career chaos, societal pressures, or pop culture—we’re talking about it all, loudly and human.”

The content will also have appeal to advertisers. Pessoa has starred in national fashion and beauty campaigns in the past.
