iHeartMedia launches a new one-hour weeknight show, “iHeartRadio EmergingALT,” on the company’s alternative/modern rock stations. The program debuted last night (March 31) and airs from 11pm-12am local time.
Hosted by Alex Mac from iHeartMedia modern rock “DC101” WWDC Washington, D.C., the show will highlight popular and up-and-coming artists, music, and more each night. “iHeartRadio EmergingALT” features stories about the artists and the inspiration behind the music, as well as interviews each night, introducing listeners to both established and emerging artists.
“Discovering new music is a critical component of the alternative format, and we’re excited to spotlight independent artists, new artists, unsigned artists, and new songs that our audience should know,” iHeartMedia SVP Alternative and Rock and KYSR Los Angeles PD Lisa Worden said in a release. “We remain committed to breaking new artists and have big plans for this show.”
Stations carrying the show include “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles, “94.5 The Buzz” KTBZ Houston, “DC101” WWDC Washington, D.C., “Alt 104.5” WRFF Philadelphia, “Channel 93.3” KTCL Denver, and “105.9 The X” WXDX Pittsburgh.
