Curtis LeGeyt, CEO and President of the NAB welcomed attendees to the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas on Monday morning by recognizing the importance broadcasters have been in pivotal moments in history through the present.
“With so much disruption happening across our media and geopolitical landscapes, I am grateful that we can gather this week to chart our industry's path forward, our collective work has never been more important, and the reason is simple, stories inspire us.”
Recalling the FDR fireside chats “that rallied our nation during the Great Depression,” MLK’s “I Have A Dream,” speech, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and “the haunting silence of 911, you have connected us to the most powerful moments that have shaped our history and touched our hearts,” LeGeyt said.
“In the past year, Americans wept as we grappled with the personal impacts of wars in Gaza and Ukraine, we were inspired as we watched heroes battling blazes that rippled through California, neighborhoods, and communities rallying together to rebuild in the aftermath of hurricanes,” he said as he praised broadcasters in attendance.
Joining LeGeyt at the Welcome Event on the Main Stage was Karen Chupka, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, GCE at the NAB, who highlighted some of the events, conferences, programs, and sessions taking place at NAB 2025.
Chupka also revealed a new NAB logo, which she described as “a symbol of the dynamic and ever-evolving world of broadcast, technology, entertainment and media.” She continued, “This refreshed design embodies the future we are shaping together, one where storytelling needs scale, where creativity, commerce, and community come together to envision the future of media and entertainment…. It's a bold step forward, and one that shows that we are constantly evolving, always looking for the future, while honoring our legacy of broadcast excellence,” Chupka explained.
