The Travis Manion Foundation, a non-profit organization that empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations, has given its Travis Manion Foundation Award to Audacy for its commitment to serving the military community.
Audacy’s Philadelphia stations “Talk Radio 1210” WPHT and “Sports Radio 94” WIP-FM have long supported TMF with annual events that raise money and awareness for its mission. TMF is the beneficiary of WPHT’s annual “Talk Radio 1210 Radiothon” and WIP-FM’s annual “WIP Birds at the Bye” event.
Audacy CEO and President David Field accepted the award — presented to organizations that go above and beyond to support fallen heroes, veterans, and military families — Dec. 12 at TMF’s 2024 “If Not Me, Then Who…” Gala.
“We admire and salute the Foundation for its extraordinary work making a meaningful, often life-changing impact on the lives of veterans, the families of fallen heroes, and young people finding their way in our increasingly challenging world,” Field said in his acceptance speech. “TMF makes an enormous difference through its various programs that elevate lives, foster strong character and leadership, and add meaning, purpose, and comfort. We hope to serve TMF as a loyal partner for many years to come.”
The Foundation, named for 1stLt Travis Manion, USMC, who made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of his patrol in 2007, offers programs to help veterans and families of fallen heroes to heal, grow, and serve others. TMF carries on the legacy of selfless service and leadership embodied by Travis and all those who have served or continue to serve in the military.
In addition to TMF, Audacy has supported the military community through partnerships with America’s VetDogs, Northwest Battle Buddies, Project Sanctuary, Folds of Honor, the PTSD Foundation of America, Marines Toys for Tots, Wreaths Across America, and others. Audacy is also the home of Connecting Vets, which provides audio and digital content that serves the military community, and partners with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to promote the new Veterans Crisis Line to connect troubled veterans with qualified mental health responders from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“Supporting veterans is a key part of Sound Communities of Audacy’s Social Impact platform and its commitment to making a meaningful difference at scale,” the company’s news release says. “Audacy uses its reach and personal connection with listeners to advance causes that promote strong mental health and build sound communities.”
